Is The GOP losing Their Christian Base?
I’ve been checking out Christian talk-radio for a while, trying to get a feel on the pulse of Christians and politics these days. I was very surprised to find that about 40% of the callers actually had something intelligent to say. Most of them were very disappointed over the 8 years that Bush served in office; they said they voted for Bush because they believed he would end abortions and bring back Christian-prayer in the public schools. And they now feel so deeply betrayed by Bush, that most said they wouldn’t vote again until they see a candidate, who shared their same values.
The overwhelming majority of them said that they would not be voting this year in November or in 2012. What I found most interesting was that only a small percentage of them thought that Palin would make a good president. They also seem to be turned off big-time by all of the ignorant and raciest tea-partiers as well. Most of them seemed to feel that neither political party supported their Christian values; and some were even saying that they won’t be voting again, until there is a new party – a “Christian party” (LOL). And most all of them were saying, they will not be sending the GOP party anymore of their money.
Could it be that all that bullshit the GOP has been stirring up to create so much acrimony
In our nation, is now beginning to backfire in their faces. And will the GOP’s base be reduced to those of the ilk who we now see at the tea-parties. I believe the good news in all this is, we’ll be seeing less and less of them voting in the elections.

The fact that some Christians still thank Jeebus, for everything good that happens in their life, just fucking amazes me to no ends. What I was trying to say was; as a whole, we have started to better understand the reasons by which most natural events occur, and we have few and fewer people, turning to superstition in seeking answers, or advice in these matters. My post was about things that I had heard on the radio, relating to religion and politics. I had thought that Daughterepontmous was making the point that some people still turn to “god,” when bad things start happening in their lives.
The fact that our nation’s economy has been going to “hell” in a hand-basket for some time now; and despite the hardships many are facing, and yet, church attendance, is still declining.
What the two radio preachers seemed to believe was, if people feared that, this strain of flu was a determent to their health; they would then turn to the church and “god,” looking for some kind of protection from it. And they were hoping that the levels of outbreaks would reach a worldwide pandemic (it was like that they were saying: you don’t believe you need the church now; just wait until you’re children start dyeing, and you’ll then see, just how much you need us and “god”).
This is one of the reasons why I want nothing to do with Christians – no one is going to peddle totally worthless bullshit to me out of fear; if I get sick, I simply go to a Doctor. In medieval times however; when the plague started killing people, people had no other place to turn but the church – and we all know the results of that (god and Jeebus; are real shitty Doctors).
I was just wondering at the time if these two radio-preachers, knew what they were saying sounded as ignorant, asinine, evil, and just plain stupid as it did. Most people are not going to pray that they don’t get the flu; they can simply go and get a flu-shot – and just what fucking role these fucking morons thought “god” or fucking Jesus could have played in preventing church goers from becoming sick; I just find that mindboggling.
When I did the research, I found that the same numbers of people die each year from flu; and indifferent from how many people actually had gotten flu-shots, or how effective the shot was in preventing the flu. I then came to realize that for most healthy people, the only benefits of this flu-shot campaign, was big profits for the drug-companies – I simply took my chances using commonsense and lots of hand washing and sanitizing.

I just hope that someday, people will start seeing Christianity and all religions, for the contrived and asinine bullshit, that they all are!

And besides all of that; do you remember what folks like Jerry Falwell were saying to these ignorant-sheep back in the late 70s and 80s, in mobilizing them to vote – Falwell was saying that jesus would be returning within his lifetime; and Jeebus had told him It was Jeebus’ will, that Christians self govern until “he returns.” And here we are over 30 years later, no Jeebus, no Xtain-prayer in the schools – and we still have on demand abortions. The GOP knows it needs them both in November and in 2012 if they’re going to have any hope regaining the White-house. So what will they promise them this time?
