When the superstitious start seeing signs in nature:
With the repeal of “don’t ask don’t tell,” I am hopeful that this will move the LGBT community closer to having the same rights as everyone else; however, I can just hear the religious nuts saying: “the cats are now sleeping with dogs, and now dead fish in the waters, and dead birds are falling out of the sky everywhere - the end times must be near – repent, repent, repent!” LOL While I’ll simply be trying to figure out how to change the blood back into water (I’ll bet there will be a big market for water).
From the Examiner:
Dead Birds and Fish:
While officials in Arkansas and Louisiana scramble to determined what caused 4,500 red-winged blackbirds, starlings and grackles to fall out of the sky, officials in Sweden announced Wednesday, Jan.5 that about 100 dead birds have been found there.
The birds fell near Falkoping, a city near Skovde.
"We do not know what the cause is," Skovde police commander Tomas Ahlgren said.
While usually not given mention, reports of mass bird deaths are now surfacing and the public is taking notice.
According to the U.S. Geological Service, 90 mass bird deaths have occurred between June and December 2010, including the recent incidents in the United States.
Reports also show that a parasite killed 1,000 birds in Minnesota and Houston, Texas between Sept. 6 and Nov. 26 of last year.
Biologists also do not know why approximately 100,000 drum fish washed up on the Arkansas River this week.
Seriously, what in the "hell" is going on with these birds?

The apparent slowdown may just be a retooling of the same old stuff. Rick Warren, Mark Driscoll and a whole new generation of evangelical Christians usually are more polished and less in-your-face offensive than fuddy-duddies like Robertson and Falwell - members of a past generation - but if you listen closely to their rhetoric, they're still spewing much of the same old shit. Same old shit, shiny new package.

Today, Frank, some of us have moved far away from our Dark Age mentality – we no longer perform a rain dance to appease the rain-gods in times of drought, we no longer throw our children into volcanoes to appease the volcano-god(s), and some of us don’t turn to superstition and supernatural causes in explaining the things in which we don’t fully understand yet either – and some of us have even moved beyond the need for superstition stupidity and ignorance in our understanding the constructs of reality.
“You think, and oh my god, you create ideas. You talk while someone listens, glory be.. you create communication. You swim, lo and behold, you create ripples in the water.”
No Frank, that’s your mentality derived from ignorance, and not mine – as I fully understand the scientific process involved in making waves on water – and I’m not trying to “create” anything except for new ideas, as none of your religious ideas have contributed anything useful to mankind at all.
You, frank, just like so many others who's basis of reality comes from the belief that everything was “created” by a god(s), and for the pleasure of mankind to worship the “creator,” and your notions of “creation” are ambiguous and vague at best – you making the statement that my parents created me, and their parents created them, is a total fallacy derived from ignorance of a simple biological process, (you’re simply looking for a greater meaning in human biological reproduction) this would be like saying that the act of sex which my parents engaged in, and the biological processes which caused my subsequent birth, were somehow different or had more meaning from when a pack of dogs, fuck a bitch dog in heat, and she then has a litter of puppies – neither “created” anything – sperm met egg, which then triggered the biological process of reproduction.
This just might come as a surprise to you Frank, but some of us, never accepted the “teaching” of the man made monotheistic religions either. Like those before us, who rejected the notion that everything in nature had a supernatural cause and reason, we also no longer need god(s) for understanding the causes of what we perceive in nature – we no longer need god(s) in explaining a lighting storm, (no thunder-gods needed - we now simply understand what causes both lighting and thunder) and some of us, have never even entertained the idea of needing god(s) in understanding life and the universe – the whole concept of “creation” and a “creator,” has its roots in ignorance and religion; and the notion that everything within reality was conceived just for us – and when you take that out of the equation, there is no longer a need for a “creator,” and rightly so – we live on a planet which is over 4.5 billion years old, of which we have only existed in our current state for about 200,000 years, and only 200,000 years despite the fact that life has existed on this planet for over 3 billion years – one could extrapolate from that fact alone, that we are no more special than the dinosaurs who came before us in the grand scheme of life.
You can set back with your little ignorant and deluded Christian friends, and try to poke fun and holes in the things in which you don’t understand; however, that don’t change reality, it only makes you look ignorant and stupid to the rest of us – science doesn’t construct reality around your god(s) – and you theistic morons need to open up your eyes to the fact that science and reason has no need for the ignorance and stupidity which is the foundation of your beliefs in god(s), and stop trying to poke holes in science, based solely on your delusions.
